These pieces were inspired by Laurie Mika and my love of
shrines. I fell in love with her work the minute I saw it and after a
looooong wait. got to take a class with her. If you are interested in making
clay tiles yourself I highly recommend her class. I learned a ton in her class
and from her new book. All the tiles are handmade and
painted by me and then baked and set into the piece. These are a fun expression
of myself and I can't wait for my own style to kick in after getting the
technique down a little more . I am learning and experimenting a lot with this new medium.
